I'm not getting what this actually is?

It's a take on our AFL Footy show. Normally there will be some interviews with players, a preview of the teams for the upcoming rounds and tips from a panel (if we go in that direction)

Hello and welcome to The Footy Show for 2010! I am Phil McKenney and let me tell you, it has been a huge week for the SCFAL! More players sign up as Draft Day nears. We have news on a fantasy football team that doesn't even have a league and we find out a bit more about the teams that will participate in the SCFAL this year.

Right now though lets kick off the show with a player profile.

PLAYER PROFILE

Name: Bartel
Position: Full Forward
Preferred foot: Right
Country: Australia

What prompted you to put your hand up for the SCFAL?
Well, I was invited by Jakey, and when I joined, I was quite impessed with the forum. I'm involved with alot of Fantasy AFL leagues, I thought this time I could be a big member of it, captain a team, be a leader.
Why did you nominate Full Forward as the position you want?
Well, Full Fowards always get the glory.  And I play midfield in real life, so I thought maybe I could see how my luck goes as a foward in Fantasy terms.
You have been appointed captain of one of the inaugural teams in the SCFAL. Tell us more.
Well it is quite an hounor to captain a team. The team was originally going to be captained by nanny2, then I was appointed captain, and then Jakey appointed himself vice. So the leadership for the club has been up and down, but now with the draft just under a week away, I think its been finalised.
I believe you play for the Gumbies in the SFA? Terrific season so far, what part do you want to play as the Gumbies strive for the Premiership in 2010? (as you were named on the bench against the Dragons)
All I want to do is be part of it, I'm just along for the ride.
What are your goals for this season? Finals berth? Premiership?
Well its gotta be a premiership, every captains dream, but all I really want to do is be a good leader for my club.
What AFL team do you barrack for?
Geelong.
No. 1 draft pick prediction?
Well for the SCFAL, I see Sumukhasai a big contender, but now Buckets joined, and is really posting well, it could be him!
Would you like to see a series between SCFAL players from Australia take on SCFAL players that are International?
I wouldn't mind it at all, if you could get enough International players. I would go there if the list wasn't full enough, as I'm a born kiwi, but lived in Aussie all my life.
Pav_001 hasn't announced his team name yet. What do you think it might be?

The SCFAL Draft. An event that will sure to become one of the biggest during the off season. Future superstars of the game are born right here. In the lead up to the first SCFAL Draft which will occur on April 20, suspense is in the air on who will be the No.1 draft pick.

The No.1 draft pick is the most watched player at the beginning of every season. The pressure is on them to perform so they defy critics who may not have touted them as No. 1 pick material. Kelli Richardson has this report on the Top 5 possible No.1 draft picks for 2010.

We're here at Crown Casino in Melbourne anticipating the arrival of Draft Day and you can already feel the atmosphere building. A lot of talk has been over who the No. 1 draft pick will be and out of that here is the top 5.

No. 5: Sumu. Sumu had people laughing early on when nominated to be a goalkeeper but this International player is tipped to a have great year.

No. 4: Coolguy. Not a huge poster yet but the kid can kick with both feet ala Didak and has garnered some attention on it and teams could quite possibly jump on coolguy early on in this draft.

No. 3: SS2. Possible champion full back in the making. A left footer is a huge plus, word in the AFL camp are they are on the hunt for more left footers as it brings another dimension to their list. No doubt clubs here are thinking the same.

No. 2: Buckets. A whopping 66 posts in his first two days has got the scouts talking. Sure this will thin out a little but expect the guy to consistently post as he has his own goals to achieve in the SCFAL.

We're here. The favourite to be the number one draft pick for 2010. and it is...

No. 1: OzCorka! He has to date, 276 posts averaging an outstanding 34.50 per day! A very consistent poster and a player who if picked at No. 1 would be very deserving of the honour.

Welcome back! Now onto something quite out there. A fantasy AFL team that doesn't have a league. Let's bring out the founder of the club Buckets007.

Welcome to The Footy Show Buckets007.
Thanks for having me Phil.

Is it right that you have founded a club with no league?
Yes that's absolutely right. I am the founding member and I am the only member.

So you have no players other than yourself signed?
Correct but that's not a bad thing. I'm sure if I got the chance to introduce the Seahawks into the SCFAL that I'd be able to fill the roster.

Tell us more about the club.
The name of the club are the Heywood Seahawks. Established in early 2010. The home guernsey, clash strip and training/preseason jumper can be found in the Buckets designs thread. I am very proud of the club and depending on the outcome of the beginning of the SCFAL, hopefully I can snag a franchise licence if they expand.

You've signed up to be drafted by a SCFAL team though this year right? If you did have an opportunity to start the Seahawks, what would happen in regards to the team you were playing with?
Well obviously I would be contracted to play with them till the end of the season and no matter what club I play at, I always give 100% so I wouldn't slack off if the opportunity arose. Hopefully they wouldn't be distasteful towards me and hold a grudge if I told them I'd like to leave as owning a team is a goal of mine. I'd like to think they'd respect my wishes, we would all remain good pals and have many good clashes in the seasons that would come.

Well thanks for being on the show Buckets007. I and everyone else hope that one day you can achieve that goal of owning a team and have success with the Seahawks, not matter what league you are in.

Well i wanted to play in the SCFAL just like Bigfooty.
Now that you have your own team what are your plans for the season ahead?
Well my plans are to run the team properly, and take on a big role.
Have you played in other fantasy football leagues?
Yes, I have. My stats weren't very high, I only got about 5 goals and 1 behind from what I can remember.
What AFL team do you barrack for?
Well I barrack for Carlton of course!
Would you like to see a series between SCFAL players from Australia take on SCFAL players that are International?
Certainly, it would be lots of fun.
Pav_001 hasn't announced his team name yet. What do you think it might be?
Well his SS name is the Southern Crows so I would say something along the line of birds.

I work hard, try to manage to please the players as much as I can, and I want to be a good leader, and a legend of the league.

Well, yes I actually do, buts its still a work in progress.

I bring a good role model and a good captain along with our VC.

Not yet i want to get all of our players to try and think of one.
